4. WELCOME BACK STUDENTS
Your attendance window will be available from 7:30-8:00 a.m. to drop off notes and obtain permits to leave. We will be issuing tardy passes beginning at 8:25 a.m. Please do not use our passing periods to obtain permits to leave. Thanks and have a great year.
5. DONUTS ARE COMING
The French Club will again be selling fruit, donuts, and juice before school. They will be in the cafeteria on the poolside from 7:30 until 8:00 a.m. each morning. Come and get ‘me!
6. YOUTH LEADERSHIP
Any student (grade 9-12) interested in Youth Leadership of Terre Haute may sign up in the Main Office from Tuesday, August 19th through Friday, August 29th.
7. ATTENTION STUDENT DRIVERS
All vehicles must be moved off of the west parking lot next to Maple Avenue where the white lines are painted by 6:00 p.m. daily as this is a practice space for the marching band. This includes all athletes that might have an extended practice, home or away game that runs past 6:00p.m. Please move your vehicle to another lot by 6:00 p.m.
8. SWIMMING & DIVING
There will be a meeting in the pool area at 3:30 p.m. TODAY, August 27th for anyone interested in swimming and diving for 2008-09 school year and is not in a fall sport.
9. FALL PLAY
The scripts are in for the fall play, entitled The Dining Room. Please stop by Mrs. Sponsler’s room to check out a script to read. You must return the script BEFORE SCHOOL on Monday so that others can check out copies. You will be responsible for the cost of the script and shipping if you do not return it. Auditions are TODAY after school in the Auditorium. Any student at Terre Haute North may audition.
10. PATRIOT PAINTERS
Last year’s Patriot Painters who received an application to join this year’s club are reminded to turn in their application by September 2nd. If you lost your form you may come to get another one in room 204.
11. KEY CLUB
Key Club applications may be picked up in the Main Office or in room 105. This is a service club for any male student in grades 9-12. Applications are due by Wednesday, September 3rd. All past members need to re-apply for membership.
12. ATTENTION SENIORS
Any senior who plans on attending college should sign yup to take the SAT if they have not already done so. The next SAT is October 4, 2008 and the deadline to register is September 9, 2008. Students are encouraged to register on-line by going to www.collegeboard.com. If a paper copy is preferred, applications can be picked up in Guidance as well as on-line instructions. Students do not need to go through their counselor to get registered—they complete and mail in themselves. The cost of the SAT is $45 but eligible students can receive a fee waiver. If you receive free or reduced lunches, you would be eligible for a fee waiver and should sign up to see your counselor to get one.
13. HOMECOMING
The Olympics are coming to Terre Haute North. The theme for homecoming is Olympics. Get involved with your class: Help create the windows, build the float, and participate in the homecoming games! Dress-Up days will be announced after September 9th. Show some Patriot Olympic Spirit!
14. ART STUDENT S
Indiana State University is having an ART DAY on Saturday, October 4th. Art workshops are planned for the morning and afternoon. Lunch will be provided and all participants will receive a T-shirt. If you are interested, stop by Mrs. Songer’s room to pick up a registration form and brochure.
15. PARKING PERMITS
ALL student drivers MUST register their automobiles for the 2008-2009 school year. T. H. North Parking Permits will be sold prior to school and during lunch periods this week. Parking Permits may be purchased for $1 and will be sold during both times in the Dean’s Office. Please bring your driver’s license, license plate number, make and model of vehicle, year and color of vehicle, and the name of the individual in which the vehicle is registered.

There is a Sierra Student Coalition meeting on Wednesday, August 27th at 7:40 a.m. in room 156. This environmental club is open to all students. We will discuss a fall picnic, recycling, and our environment concert. See you there on Wednesday at 7:40 a.m. in room 156.
