Classroom Rules and Expectations

1. Be respectful. Do not speak while the teacher or others are speaking. Refrain from foul language and derogatory statements.
2. Be responsible. Bring materials to class every day. If you are missing materials, you will be charged one tardy to go get them from your locker. Also, be in your assigned seat by the time the bell ringsif not, you will also be counted tardy.
3. Be prepared. Complete assigned reading and homework. Late work will be accepted one day late at half-credit; after that, it is a zero (0). If you are absent, it is your responsibilityto repeat that, your responsibilityto check with the teacher to get make-up work and notes. Make-up work should be completed within three (3) days of your absence to be counted.
4. Be honest. Cheating and plagiarism do a disservice to you, your classmates, and the academic integrity of the school as a whole. They will not be tolerated.
Consequences
Tardies: Your first two tardies are warnings. After that, each tardy carries with it a detention. Unless it is an emergency, any time you leave class is a tardy. If you come to me before class to get permission to be late (such as asking to go to the restroom), the tardy may be waived. Being in class and bringing materials will save you a lot of time after schoolmake sure to do both.
Serious infractions: Disrupting class in any way is a serious infraction and may incur detentions, visits to the dean, and greater penalties depending on the event. Avoiding these infractions prevents disciplinary action.
