BOARD MEMBER AUTHORITY
Because all powers of the Board of School Trustees lie in its action as a group, individual School Board Members exercise their authority over School Corporation affairs only as they vote to take action at a duly constituted meeting of the School Board.
In other instances, an individual School Board Member, including the president, shall have power only when the Board by vote has delegated authority to him or her.
It shall be the policy of the Board of
School Trustees to make its members, the members of the administrative
staff, and other employees, and the public aware that only the Board has
authority to take official action.
