Mrs. Kelty writes:

I have taught at Fuqua for my entire career, teaching fourth grade, kindergarten for many years, first, my famous one/two split and now first grade again.

After my family transferred to Terre Haute in 1966, I attended Fuqua, Sarah Scott Junior High and graduated from Terre Haute South. Mr. Tanoos and I say "Go, Braves!" I received my BS and MS from Indiana State University, right along with with some guy named Larry Bird. I recently completed 30 hours beyond my MS, focusing my studies on classroom best practices and science education.

I love working with young people. I enjoy the challenges and rewards of teaching. My classroom philosophy emphasizes best personal conduct, hard work and strong academics in a warm, caring environment. I believe in high expectations and high ideals for everyone as we grow and learn together.

My favorite activities revolve around Fuqua. I love the outdoors and gardening. I enjoy taking classes, reading and spending time with my daughter Kate and our two dogs, Betsy and Gretchen.
