I teach full-day kindergarten at Fuqua Elementary in Vigo County.  My first year of teaching was with Title I at Park Elementary in Madison-Grant School Corporation.  I did my student teaching in Vigo County at Lost Creek Elementary. 

Philosophy of Education:       I believe that all children are learners, and that they are all individuals.  Each individual has his or her unique way of understanding concepts and ideas.  I believe in finding methods and strategies to help each individual learn to his or her fullest potential.  By doing this, I am helping to give each child an equitable education.     I also believe that flexibility is the key to being a great educator.  Things in a classroom and a school are constantly changing, but students need consistency.  Teachers need to be able to change routines and schedules quickly and smoothly to make the transitions easier for their students.

Personal Background:
I was born and raised in Brownsburg, Indiana. I attended Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana.  I lived in Muncie, Indiana for one year.  I have lived in Terre Haute for two years.  I recently purchased my first home.  I have a spunky puppy named Socks and a lazy cat named Cleveland.  I love to read, go shopping, and be with my friends and family.  I was married in October, 2004 and my name is now Mrs. Evans.  Teaching Kindergarten is my passion!  I love Fuqua, and am very proud to be part of the Fuqua family.
