Improvement Plan – When
developing our School Improvement Plan the goal
areas identified were reading comprehension and writing development. Reading and writing daily at home is a
wonderful way to help your child in these areas. Remember to stress the
importance of making “reading and writing time” an important part of
evenings
and weekends! -
Hooray For Partners! – A big thank you
to our partners, Garmong and Sons, Inc.! They
generously donated the money to
purchase t-shirts for students walking 50 miles on the fitness trail! What a wonderful incentive!! -
TEXTBOOK FEES – The Vigo County School
Corporation is currently sending textbook accounts to the collection
attorney. Accounts that have had
nothing paid on them are being processed.
If you receive a notice from the attorney that is in
error, contact the
textbook office at 462-4229. To prevent
your account from being turned over, you must make a payment now and
have it
paid off by May 1, 2008. Your
cooperation is appreciated. -
Looking ahead – Kindergarten registration
will be at Fayette on April 11th from 8:00-10:30 AM.
More details -
Good Attendance – Please make sure your
child is at school each and every day unless they are ill.
Make every effort to schedule doctor and
dentist appointments after school. If your child does need to leave
school for
an appointment, they need to bring in an excuse from the doctor/dentist
for the
absence to be excused. Make every
attempt to get your child to eat nutritious meals and get plenty of
rest. Have your child complete missed
assignments. School attendance is
important! -
Immunizations and Physicals – Fifth graders need to
prepare for entrance to 6th grade with both immunizations
(this
includes a booster MMR) and physicals in order to participate in sports. -
Emergency Cards – Please let the school know
as soon as possible if you have a change in address, phone number and
emergency
contact. This information is very
important to us in case we need to get a hold of you during the school
day. Thank you in advance for your
prompt attention to this matter. -
