Good, Good Evening Sarah Scott Family,

This is your principal, Scotia Brown, with your Scottie Burst for the Week of October 10th.  I hope you all are having a safe and restful fall break!  We get to enjoy one more day of fall break and students will return to Sarah Scott, bright and early Tuesday morning!

Congratulations to our 6th and 7th grade boys, who made the basketball team!  Miss Campbell-Miller and Mr. Fuqua have shared that we have some talented student athletes on the team.  We are looking forward to seeing each of our young men show us their skills on the basketball court.

We are also looking forward to seeing our cheerleaders and dance team showcase their skills!  Both, the cheerleaders and the dance team, have been practicing hard.  We will get to enjoy their skills in a couple of weeks.

Family, the school corporation does not allow students to have cough drops in the building.  Please make you’re your student is not bringing cough drops to Sarah Scott.

The corporation’s cell phone policy for middle school students is that students may have their phones with them before school starts, during lunch and after school.  Other than that, their phones are to be turned off and kept in their lockers.  Parents, if you need to get in touch with your student, please call the school and we will get the message to them. If they need to call you, they are to come to the office and use the school phone to make the call.  Do not call or text them during the day.  Doing so is a cell phone violation for your student.

Family, we need to you to help us spread the word again.  We will be having another food distribution on Monday, October 18th.  If you or anyone you know needs a food box…come on by on Monday, October 18th between 9:00 and 11:00.  Please share this information on your social media.  Everyone is welcome!

Let’s have a great week, at “Sarah Scott:  Where Hope is Inspired, Talent is Trained, and Potential is Developed!”

Good, Good Evening Sarah Scott Family,

This is your principal, Scotia Brown, with your Scottie Burst for the week of August 15th.  Tomorrow is the big day!  Tomorrow we will welcome our Scotties back for the 2021-2022 school year.  And we are so excited! Here is some important information for you:

Scotties, get those Chromebooks out and get them charged!  If you have lost your charger, you can purchase one in the main office.  The cost for a charger is $27.00.  If you have lost your Chromebook, the cost for a replacement is $300.00.

All students will enter through Door #19 and go to the gym.  Drivers are not permitted to pass the school bus on the school parking lot.  Cars are asked to remain in a single line to prevent accidents.

All students are to come into the building wearing masks.

Students will need to have a water bottle to drink from.

Breakfast and lunch will be free for all students this year.

Please go to myschoolapps.com and complete the form for free and reduced book fees.

If you haven’t had a chance yet, please log into Skyward and update your Scotties enrollment.  You can find those forms in Skyward, under family access.  We are announcing the winners of our drawing on Wednesday.  The winners will receive dinner for the family at Texas Roadhouse.  The winners will be drawn from everyone who has completed their student’s online enrollment information.

If you need to have your password or username reset, please call the school and ask for Miss O.  She will be glad to assist you.

If you have moved over the summer, the state now requires that we have proof of your new address.  Some of the items you can use for proof of address would be any utility bill, in your name, rental agreements or a picture ID.  We cannot approve the update, without this proof.  Again, if you have any questions, call the school.

For all of our athletes, we need you on our teams!  Monday, we will begin tryouts for boy’s 6th, 7th and 8th grade tennis, girl’s junior varsity and varsity tennis, cross country and dance.  Practice and tryouts will begin immediately after school on Monday.  In order to participate, you must have a completed physical form on file.  We are having a Sports’ physical clinic on Thursday from 4:15 to 6:30, in the cafeteria.  This clinic is free to all of our Scotties.  Get your physical and get on one of the teams.  You’ll have a great time!

As always, if your family needs a food box, please call the school and ask for Miss Campbell-Miller.
