BOARD OF SCHOOL TRUSTEES MEETING

JANUARY 27, 2003

PUBLIC HEARING

The Public Hearing for the Rio Grande Elementary School addition and renovation project was held at the Administration Building, 686 Wabash Avenue, Terre Haute, Indiana on the 27^th day of January 2003, at 7:00 P.M.

The following Board Members were present: Dr. Joseph Minnis, Mr. Kenneth Schuster, Mr. Michael Tom, Mr. Mel Burks, Mr. Gene Shike, Mr. Alferd Hamblen, and Mr. Guille Cox.

Pledge of Allegiance

Mr. Gene Shike led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Review of Project

Mrs. Camilla Correll made a presentation outlining the curricular needs for the additions and renovations at Rio Grande Elementary School.

Mr. David Danner described the facilities to be renovated and outlined the additions to be made to the school.

Review of Funding

Mr. Thomas Thornton presented information on the funding for the project. Mr. Thornton stated the projected cost for the project would not exceed $1,500,000 and the project would be funded by the Capital Projects Fund. Mr. Thornton further explained that the project would have no adverse impact on the Vigo County property tax rate.

Public Hearing – Comments/Questions

President Joseph Minnis opened the floor for public comments and questions. There were no requests for public comments.

Consideration of Proposed Resolution

Mr. Thornton presented the Resolution for approval of the project for Board adoption.

Mr. Schuster moved for approval. Mr. Cox seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
